Rev. Dr. Heesung Hwang Joins Saint Paul Faculty

Saint Paul School of Theology is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Dr. Heesung Hwang as Assistant Professor of Christian Religious Education. Dr. Hwang earned her Ph.D. in Christian Education and Congregational Studies from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 2019. She holds a Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary; a certificate in TESOL (Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages) from Providence Theological Seminary in Otterburne, Canada; a Master of Theology from the Graduate School of Methodist Theological University; and a Bachelor of Theology from Methodist Theological University in Seoul, South Korea. Dr. Hwang is the author of Emergence: A New Blueprint for Christian Education with the Global Generations (forthcoming in 2023). She has also published several book chapters and journal articles in religious education and faith formation. Dr. Hwang is currently the Visiting Assistant Professor of Religious Education and Public Ministry at Chicago Theological Seminary and is an ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church. We will welcome Dr. Hwang to the Saint Paul community effective July 1, 2023.
