Regarding Dobbs vs Jackson Women’s Health Organization

Given today’s release of the decision in Dobbs versus Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Faculty Council of Saint Paul School of Theology wants to share a reminder about the United Methodist Church’s policy statement regarding women’s reproductive health as found in the Social Principles of the 2016 Book of Discipline.  The Faculty Council also wish to bring attention to the May 4, 2022, statement of the United Women in Faith, which builds on the 2016 Social Principles of the United Methodist Church.  Saint Paul School of Theology affirms women’s reproductive health rights as articulated in the Book of Discipline and calls on our political and legislative leaders to preserve and affirm these rights.  Members of other denominations are encouraged to review the position statements of their faith communities.
