Master of Divinity
- The basic professional degree for ministry in the church and one requirement for ordination in most denominations.
- A ministry setting is required for all Master of Divinity students. The Contextual Education Office assists students in finding ministry positions.
Master of Arts in Theological Studies
- An academic degree for those intending further graduate study with the goal of a demonstrated capacity for scholarship within a defined field of study.
- A general program of graduate theological studies for lay persons desiring to strengthen the religious basis of their lives and work. Master of Arts in Specialized Ministry
- A program of study to cultivate knowledge of the biblical, historical, and theological foundations of faith and to develop awareness of the social and cultural contexts in which ministry occurs.
- A program of study to promote growth in understanding of the student's denominational tradition and in basic knowledge and skills for competence in a specialized area of ministry.
Master of Arts in Specialized Ministry
- An academic degree that includes distinct coursework that tests students' growth and competency in their specialized areas of study. This degree program meets the academic requirements for ordination as Deacon in the United Methodist Church.
- The purpose of the Master of Arts in Specialized Ministry (MASM) is to provide theologically informed and competent lay and ordained leaders in specialized ministry for the local church and the church at large.
